Ecua Market opens its doors in Malabo

Ecua Market opens in Malabo with 12,000+ products from 40+ European brands, a wholesale section, and daily hours from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

On March 12, 2026, Ecua Market S.A. officially opened its doors at Calle Naciones Unidas S/N, Malabo, Bioko Norte, Equatorial Guinea. After months of preparation, the city now has a supermarket designed to offer a complete shopping experience, with more than 12,000 products available from day one and a range that keeps growing week after week.

A catalogue of more than 40 European brands

One of the pillars of Ecua Market is our brand selection. We have negotiated directly with more than 40 European brands to bring Malabo grocery, household, hygiene, baby and frozen products that many families recognize and had been missing. From dairy and canned goods to cleaning supplies and personal care items, the goal is for any customer to find much of what they need for the week in a single place, without having to visit several stores.

The logistics behind this catalogue are not simple: they involve coordinating sea shipments, respecting the cold chain for chilled and frozen goods, and keeping an organized warehouse that allows shelves to be restocked quickly. All of this work has been designed so that, from the customer's point of view, the result is simple: finding the product they're looking for, at the right price, always in stock.

Opening hours built around real life in Malabo

Ecua Market is open every day of the week, Monday to Sunday, from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with no midday closure. We know that work schedules and family routines don't always match traditional shopping hours, so we chose a long, continuous schedule that lets customers shop early in the morning, during a lunch break, or after work.

For those who prefer to plan ahead, our team also handles enquiries and reservations by phone at +240 222 020 555 (+240 222 020 555), as well as by email at info@ecua-market.com. This is especially useful for confirming the availability of a specific product before coming in, or for managing larger orders.

A wholesale section for local businesses

Ecua Market was not built with individual shoppers in mind alone. From day one we have a wholesale section aimed at shops, restaurants, hotels and canteens that need larger volumes on special terms. This section answers a real need within Malabo's commercial and hospitality sector, which until now largely depended on its own imports or on intermediaries.

The Ecua Market team is available to advise each business on which products and volumes best fit their needs, and to build a stable, ongoing supply relationship over time.

This is only the beginning. In the coming weeks we will keep expanding the catalogue, announcing weekly deals on our Instagram @ecua.market.malabo_eg, and sharing more about how the store works behind the scenes, from the cold chain to product selection. Thank you, Malabo, for the warm welcome on this first day.
